Dr. Edward Chan

Dr. Edward Chan, the Principal Consultant Psychologist at the International Psychology Centre, is an esteemed figure in the field of couple, adult, children and adolescence psychotherapy. Dr. Chan also serves as the Clinical Director and principal consultant psycho-nutritional therapist at WellLab and WellLabNutrition. Leading the Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory for Disease Prevention & Reversal, Dr. Chan uniquely combines the practice of psychotherapy, psychological and functional medicine.

With over two decades of experience in Malaysia and across the region, Dr. Chan has successfully treated thousands of patients dealing with mental health challenges. His research is extensively published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Cognitive Research & Therapy, which he co-authored with internationally renowned psychologists from the University of Amsterdam, and the Journal of Developmental Diversities. He is the author of critically acclaimed books including When Love Dies, Love is Never Enough, Are You Man Enough to be a Father!, Dancing with Crocodiles, and the upcoming Agape Functional Selves Therapy.

Education & Training:
Dr. Chan holds an Honors degree in Psychology, a double Master in Nutritional Medicine and Educational Psychology, and a Doctorate in Psychology based on his doctoral research completed at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford. He holds a postdoctoral fellowship with the European Council of Aging Research & Education (ECARE). He is trained in Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and Expressive Art Therapy, and is an accredited Amen Clinic Brain Health Therapist.

Professional Leadership & Speaking:
Dr. Chan is the President of the Malaysian Association of Psychotherapy and a board member of the World Council for Psychotherapy representing Malaysia. He is a sought-after keynote speaker at national and international conferences, including the International Society for Schema Therapy, the World Congress of Psychotherapy, the European Psychiatry Conference, and the International Orthomolecular Medicine Conference.
